Volleyball Alberta Mini Programs

Volleyball Alberta either directly runs or is involved in partnerships with the following programs who follow the curriculum set out in Volleyball Canada's Mini-Volleyball Program. Mini-Volley is an introductory program for children between the ages of 6-8 to the sport of volleyball.  This program provides game like activities (PLAY), ensures that participants stay active (FUN) and allows them to experience success while focusing on the development of fundamental movement patterns.  This program emphasizes the importance of developing physically literacy in children which will allow them to gain the competence and confidence they need to participate in a wide variety of physical activities

Volleyball Partnership Programs

Original Y Sports (6-9 years)
This is a partnership program with Basketball Alberta and Volleyball Alberta providing children with an introduction to basketball and volleyball in a fun and non-competitive environment. Skill development will be based off the Steve Nash Basketball and Mini-Volley program curriculum.  Games and activities will focus on the Fundamentals stage of the CS4L LTAD model.
