Referee Development

Within Alberta, the responsibility for training and development of referees is managed by the Volleyball Alberta Referees Committee. For more information regarding upcoming clinics in your area, please contact the local Zone Chair or Development Coordinator.  

Upcoming Referee Clinics

Clinic information will be posted as the zones make it available to Volleyball Alberta.

Zone 1 – Southwest Alberta Volleyball Referees Association (SAVRA) Serves Lethbridge and Area

October 20, 2021 - Zone 1 Level 1 Referee Theory Clinic. 

Available to anyone who is interested in becoming a referee for the upcoming volleyball season. The clinic will be held online, link will be provided once registered. 6:00pm-9:30pm.

Practical will be October 22-23

**Register online on the VRS-Sportlomo. You must first purchase your Volleyball Alberta membership then complete the event registration to secure your spot in the clinic.

Zone 8 – Peace Volleyball Referees Association (PVRA) Serves Grande Prairie and Area

September 8, 2021 - Zone 8 Level 1 Referee Clinic. Available to anyone 16 and over looking to get into reffing the great sport of volleyball. The clinic will be held on September 8th in Clairmont Alberta at the Wellington Resource Center from 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm. The Address to the Wellington is 10407 - 97 Street, Clairmont, AB T0H 0W5. Contact Person: Megan Van Bavel 403-715-9532 or email at referees.zone8@volleyballalberta.ca. Zone 9 – Fort McMurray Volleyball Referees Association (FMVRA) Serves Fort McMurray and Area

October 9th, 2021 - Zone 9 Level 1 Referee Theory Clinic. 

This theory clinic will run from 6-8:30pm and will be held at Fort McMurray Composite High School.*****Level 1 practical session will be held on October 15/16 weekend.
