Referees - Upcoming Clinics

How to Register

Within Alberta, the responsibility for training and development of referees is managed by the Volleyball Alberta Referees Committee. For more information regarding upcoming clinics in your area, please contact the local Zone Chair or Development Coordinator.  

How to register for an event below?

1. Click Event Registration to register for the Event of your choice

2. Click Purchase/Register For Events at the bottom of the page

3. Log in or Create an account. After creating an account please start back at Step 1 to avoid confusion

4. Once logged in please click “Buy” for the clinic you would like to purchase

5. Press “Continue” on the right side of the page

6. Press “Save” if it is correct

7. Fill out all information needed and press “Continue”

8. Proceed to filling out your payment information!

Upcoming Referee Clinics

November 15, 2022: Zone 2 Level 1 Referee Clinic, (VIRTUAL), Time: 6:30-9:30 pm, Cost: $50.00 + tax & fees, Register on the Event Registration Portal for Volleyball Alberta Events. Other areas are welcome if they cannot attend their local zone theory clinic. You will be expected to take an online test and pass the Level 1 Theory Exam with 80%, the exam. Practical opportunities will be held in January at the VA invitationals & subsequent VA tournaments.The virtual meeting room link will be emailed to registered participants only prior to the clinic.

***After completion of your clinic, the Novice Referee membership must be bought ($17.78), Pass the Safe Sport Module (Free) and complete a backcheck through myBackCheck ($26.25) (18 years+) before being able to complete your certification. After the theory clinic, you will receive specific instructions on the next steps to complete your membership registration and PIA's (Person in Authority checks)***
