Volleyball Alberta Youth Beach Tournaments
Volleyball Alberta is planning on offering our Youth Beach Tournament series for 13U to 18U age classes in 2022. All events will adhere to the Government of Alberta guidelines at that time and may be restructured to follow all guidelines. Registration for each age class will be capped at a lower number than in previous years.
Tentative 2023 Volleyball Alberta Youth Beach Tournament Schedule
The 2023 Youth Beach Tournament Series age groups are 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 18U.
2023 Age Classes
Important: All coaches at VA tournaments will be required to complete the following: Sterling MyBackCheck, Safe Sport Training, Making Head Way in Sport, and Making Ethical Decisions. All coaches will be required to check in and wear a VA coaching badge throughout the tournament.
Please note: 13U Girls age class will not be offered at all tournaments.
Teams must play in the same age class at provincials and national championships.
For 2023: Athletes may play up a maximum of two age classes without an exemption from Volleyball Alberta. (For example: A 14U athlete can play in a 15U or 16U age class but not 18U.)
13U Girls (born Sept.1 2009 to Dec.31 20010 or later)
14U (born Sept.1 2008 to Dec.31 2009 or later)
15U (born Sept.1 2007 to Dec.31 2008 or later)
16U (born Sept.1 2006 to Dec.31 2007 or later)
17U/18U (born Sept.1 2004 to Dec.31 2006 or later)

The registration deadline is Monday prior to the event.
Late entries (if accepted) will be charged a $20 late registration fee.

Calgary Tournaments are held at the CBVA Courts located at the Eastside of Valleyview Park. CBVA Beach Courts (maps)

Rosters for coaches will lock after the registration deadline (Monday at 11:59 MST). No changes for coaches will be permitted after the deadline. Coaches must have all screening requirements completed by the registration deadline, if not they will not be permitted to coach. NO EXCEPTIONS
- New for 2023 -Teams wishing to register for Nationals without playing in provincials may request an exemption. Please email rsewell@volleyballalberta.ca - Note that teams receiving an exemption will be required to pay a $110 fee

The Mikasa VLS300 ball will be used at all Volleyball Alberta events.

Tournament Registration Deadline: is the Monday PRIOR to the event at 21:59 MST. It is the players' responsibility to confirm their own registration. Please see the Beach Schedule for all tournament registration deadlines.

Refund Policy: $35 admin fee if withdrawing before the cancellation date. The cancellation date is the same as the registration deadline: Monday prior to the event at 21:59 MST. Please see the Beach Schedule for all tournament registration deadlines. All refund requests must be emailed to the Program Coordinator overseeing that program or event. Email beach@volleyballalberta.ca

Registration Process - VA accepts online registrations ONLY. As previously stated, you must become a VA member in order to successfully register for events. All Beach event registrations are done through the Volleyball Registration System (VRS)

Draws & Results
Unless otherwise notified all teams must be on site for team check in at 8:00am. The mandatory players meeting will follow check in
Draws will be posted FRIDAY afternoon before the tournament.
