Find a Hotel

In 2022, Volleyball Alberta signed a 2-year Housing partnership with EventConnect for all Volleyball Alberta hotel bookings. The EventConnect Support platform is a convenient online web and mobile application built to help travelling teams select and manage their team hotel at discounted hotel rates.

All teams attending Volleyball Alberta events are encouraged to book their accommodations by submitting their hotel block/booking requests via the booking engine built into our event management system powered by EventConnect.

Volleyball Alberta is not responsible for any accommodation issues due to a change in venue. We will do our best to have the event draws with teams assigned to venues and game times according to the draw release date in the Schedule. Volleyball Alberta does not have a Stay To Play Policy in effect for the 2025 Premiers & Provincials. However, teams are strongly encouraged to book accommodations using EventConnect.

Volleyball Canada Nationals typically has the Stay To Play Policy in effect for Nationals. Please review the Volleyball Canada website for more information.

1. Volleyball Alberta and EventConnect have pre-selected sponsored hotels to provide teams with the best options on location, value, and amenities.
2. The ability for team managers to efficiently book their hotel reservations at a discounted rate.
3. EventConnect allows us to hold hotels to “rate integrity”. Prices cannot increase closer to the tournament dates or vary by night. Teams are guaranteed one price for their booking.
4. Team Managers can set up a courtesy hold on rooms for the team, free of charge! When creating a block of rooms, EventConnect holds those rooms without a deposit for the allocated 10 days while families reserve their rooms. Then, at the time that the courtesy hold/block expires, any rooms that aren’t reserved are released back to the booking feed to allow other teams to pick them up.
5. All travelling participants have the ability to customize their room reservations specific to their needs.
6. EventConnect and the hotels make every effort to block each team together in the hotel.
7. The average reservation rate in 2024 was $137.00.
8. EventConnect is integrated into our process when choosing locations- if there is not enough inventory for our events, we do not bring our events to a location. They negotiate hotel block bookings to help ensure Clubs will have a place to stay for events. ​
9. When our teams choose to find other accommodations, hotel blocks are not filled, and hotels are less inclined to hold rooms for future events…our teams may find it harder to find hotels in future years.
10. Tracking hotel usage via EventConnect helps create a case for the economic impact our events bring to a location. When we can provide evidence of our impact, we are able to apply for and receive larger grants from host cities. These grants help offset event costs.

For the 24/25 season, our hotel booking portal is expected to open on December 2nd, 2024.
