Volleyball Alberta is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Mikasa Achievement Awards.

Each year, the Mikasa Achievement Awards recognize outstanding athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers, and community leaders who have made a significant impact on volleyball across Alberta. From national team athletes and championship coaches to lifelong contributors to the growth and development of the sport, these recipients represent excellence both on and off the court.

  • 2025 Beach Athletes of the Year: Maya Sikora & Kaitreanne Chojnacki / Brock Reinsch & Chase Walker
  • 15U/16U Athletes of the Year: Elise Evanson / Asher Heinen
  • 17U/18U Athletes of the Year: Ashlyn Gent / Tyson DeZutter
  • Development Coaches of the Year: Joanna Korzeniewski / Ryley Fetter
  • Performance Coaches of the Year: Cody Domoney / Geoff Trentham
  • Service Excellence Award: Heather Harder
  • Development Referee Award: Troy Gratton
  • Performance Referee Award: Adam Junck

The 2026 recipients will be formally honoured at the 22nd Annual Mikasa Achievement Awards & Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Edmonton South – Evario Events in Edmonton, Alberta.

The banquet is open to the public, and members of the volleyball community are invited to join Volleyball Alberta in celebrating this year’s award recipients and Hall of Fame inductee, Harvey Penhale.
