The Canada Games are the largest multi-sport event in the country and represent the pinnacle of interprovincial and territorial sport competition.
Team Alberta’s Canada Games program brings together the top athletes in the province for an intensive training and competition pathway. Athletes selected to the program train toward Canada Cup and the Canada Summer Games while representing Alberta on a national stage.

The 2025 cycle includes one 18U Women’s team and one 18U Men’s team.
Step 1
GMTM Applications
Athletes submit an application and video through the Volleyball Alberta athlete application portal.
Step 2
Application & Video Review
The selection team reviews athlete profiles, videos, and physical testing information.
Step 3
Premier Season Evaluation
Team Alberta coaches and mentors continue evaluating athletes throughout Premier events.
Step 4
Invite-Only Tryout Camp
Selected athletes are invited to attend the final tryout camp.
Step 5
Team Selection
Each team selects a Canada Games roster and alternates for training and competition.

Athletes must be 18U as of December 31, 2025.
Athletes born in 2007 or later are eligible for the 2025 cycle.
Athletes not selected for indoor teams may consider the Team AB Beach 18U pathway.
IMPORTANT: Athletes may apply for both Team AB Indoor and Team AB Beach programs; please use the code below for Team AB Beach to avoid paying for multiple GMTM applications.
