Volleyball Alberta is excited to announce our 2025 Sportsmanship Award recipients.
During VA’s Provincials weekends, we encouraged all to submit nominations for a referee, athlete, coach, team staff, or fan from another team if they were noticed creating a positive environment, being respectful, acting with honesty, being kind to others, competing with integrity, or other acts of sportsmanship. Volleyball Alberta chose one winner from the nominees for each weekend. In the second season holding this award, we received many heart-warming nominations and are proud to hear of the exceptional conduct displayed by our athletes, coaches, parents, and referees. Let’s strive to bring more of this to Nationals and the beach season!
Thank you to everyone who participated.
The three winners were Savannah from 15U Girls Ace Medicine Hat, Dennis from 14U Girls Park and Evan from 18U Boys YYC Eagles.
Savannah was noticed for her positive attitude, building up her teammates, being honest and respectful to all coaches, athletes and officials.
Dennis was noticed for creating a positive environment, being respectful to the officials, and being kind and caring to others.
Evan was noticed for creating a positive environment, being respectful and kind to others, and competing with integrity and honesty.
