Performance Coach Workshop


Volleyball Canada is now accepting applications for coaches interested in attending the NCCP Indoor Performance Coach workshop on June 6-8, 2019 in Ottawa.

The 3-day Performance Coach Workshop focusses on the skill of Performance Analysis (error detection and correction) using video technology. This is an advanced volleyball coaching workshop and is intended for coaches who aspire to develop athletes and teams to compete at the national and university/college levels. 

In addition, the June 6-8 workshop in Ottawa overlaps with the June 7-9 International Coaches Symposium. Performance Coach candidates may choose to take part in all Sunday, June 9th sessions, and specific Nations League matches from June 7-9.

The Performance Coach Pathway (Beach) is managed by Volleyball Canada.  For 2019, Volleyball Canada will not be offering a Performance Coach Beach Workshop due to low demand.


NCCP Multi-Sport Modules

The NCCP Multi-Sport Modules are offered through Alberta Sport Connection throughout the year.  Modules may be offered individually or in a bundle and some modules are also available through online learning.

Coaches also have the option of participating in a Multi-Sport Modules being offered by other Provincial or Territorial Associations.  Coaches can use the the 'Calendar' tab in their NCCP Locker account to view courses being offered in other Provinces or Territories.

International Coaching School & Sport Performance Coaching Certificate Program (Canadian Sport Institute Pacific)

The ​​International ​​Coaching ​​School ​(ICS), ​​hosted ​​by ​​Canadian ​​Sport ​​Institute ​​Pacific, ​​provides ​​coaches ​​with ​the ​opportunity ​​to ​​become ​​world-class, ​high ​performance ​leaders. ​​This ​year, ​the ​Canadian ​Sport ​Institute ​Pacific ​will ​be ​offering ​​the ​​Sport ​​Performance ​​Coaching ​​Certificate ​​(SPCC) ​or ​a ​la ​carte ​module ​options ​where ​coaches ​can ​take ​any ​number ​of ​competition ​development ​level ​courses ​they ​may ​need ​to ​complete ​their ​requirements. ​

The ​​SPCC ​​is ​​directed ​​at ​​coaches ​​working ​​with ​​a ​​range ​​of ​​developmental ​​athletes ​​predominantly ​​at ​​the ​​Train ​​to ​​Compete ​​stage ​​of ​the ​Long-Term ​Athlete ​Development ​(​LTAD). ​​It ​​features ​​eight ​​multi-sport ​​NCCP ​​Competition-Development ​ ​​modules ​​that ​​provide ​​a ​​next ​​step ​​for ​​those ​​looking ​​to ​​enhance ​​their ​​coaching ​​expertise ​​with ​​a ​​focus ​​on ​​building ​​and ​​supporting ​​the ​​developing ​​athlete.

Continuing Education and Professional Development 

Volleyball Canada International Coaching Symposium

Dates: June 7-9, 2019
Location: Ottawa, ON 

This event will be held as part of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League weekend, where the Canadian Men's National Team will play host to Australia, Germany and Serbia.

The International Coach Symposium targets coaches interested in expanding their coaching knowledge through presentations on high level volleyball principles. Coaches of school, club, college, university, provincial and national teams will all benefit from this program. The presenters will share their national/international volleyball experiences, and will deal with advanced coaching concepts capable of inspiring coaches at all levels.
